Inspections & Surveys

Surveying

We offer a 22 point checklist report which will establish whether your fire door is compliant with fire safety legislation. Our report will consider overall condition of the leaf, whilst looking at other details such as, gap sizes, glazing, the door’s hardware. This will determine the status of the leaf’s compliance and outline a set of recommendations, whether it be replacing the leaf or any essential works to meet guidelines.

Surveys & Inspection

In the UK fire safety law applies to any building except the inside of people’s private houses or flats. It states that each building needs to duty holder or holders who are responsible for mitigating the risk of fire in all non-domestic buildings. This includes the common parts of flats, apartments and houses of multiple occupation. The duty holder is called the ‘responsible person’. This is typically the person, organisation or company that controls the building.

The responsible person must carry out a fire risk assessment and maintain a fire management plan.

It goes without saying that, in the event of a fire, it is critical that exit and entrance points not only provide a safe means of evacuation but are also engineered to provide an effective barrier against the spread of smoke and fire.
